The Independent Commission Against Corruption launched its 50 Days of Integrity Campaign today.
Under the Commission’s theme “Building Integrity Together 50 Years On”, the campaign aims to ignite a nationwide movement for behavioral change and commitment to stand against corruption.
The campaign will run for 50 days starting today and will end on December 17, 2025, in commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) which falls on December 9.
Through creative, cross-sector engagement, the campaign aims to embed integrity as a lived value across society, mobilizing youth, public servants, businesses, and communities to make a call to action 50 years on.
The campaign is designed to engage all sectors of society through various initiatives:
Gold Ribbon for Integrity
The ICAC launches the use of the ‘Gold Ribbon for Integrity’ as a national symbol of ethical commitment. Gold is traditionally associated with high standards, excellence, and achievement, and it reflects moral strength, honesty, and ethical leadership. By adopting the Gold Ribbon, we aim to create a powerful and visible emblem that inspires individuals and institutions to uphold integrity in all aspects of life.
Competitions
The campaign will host three types of competitions:
· Facebook Selfie – take a selfie with the Gold Ribbon and explain why you stand against corruption.
· TikTok Short Video – create a 15–60 second video showing the impact of corruption.
· Art Competition – draw, paint, or design artwork representing what corruption means to you.
These competitions are aimed at invoking and creating an understanding of corruption and its impacts.
Invitation to Government Departments and Business houses to make a pledge against corruption
We will extend an invitation through letters to all government departments and selected business houses to take a public stand against corruption by making a voluntary pledge. Participation is not compulsory, but we will strongly encourage them to take part as a demonstration of commitment to integrity and ethical leadership.
Online Poll
This initiative invites individuals from all walks of life to pledge their support towards the fight against corruption. We are urging everyone to take ownership of the fight against corruption, and citizens at every level to stand for integrity and against corruption.
The poll encourages honest reflection and personal commitment, reinforcing that the fight against corruption begins with each of us. Each count on the poll adds to our collection of voices demanding transparency, fairness, and accountability across Papua New Guinea.
The ICAC will use various communications platforms to drive the campaign including its Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and pilot TikTok and WhatsApp Channel and the mainstream media.
We urge all citizens, youth, students, public servants, NGOs, private sector, and members of the public to join us in this campaign.
