Case Study Library

Please note, the cases in the current library were not identified or prosecuted by the ICAC, the cases pre-date the establishment of the ICAC. However, they are still relevant as they show how corrupt conduct, primarily misappropriation, occur and are prosecuted in PNG. More cases will be added to this library overtime.

The ICAC has collected and written case studies about corruption in PNG. Case studies are a great way to understand how corruption can occur, and people tend to remember facts better when learnt as a story.

Case studies also provide the opportunity to analyse a scenario and understand what went right or wrong in preventing corruption. This can help us understand how to implement better processes that address specific control weaknesses. This will be a key role for the ICAC, and case studies will continue to be added as cases are finalised.

Do you have more examples of corruption that has been prosecuted in PNG? Please contact the ICAC and we can continue adding to this resource for official and the public to use.
